WW: "The Preservation of Italian Virginity"

This week for Creative Writing class, we had to write a found poem composed of lines from poems, songs, movies, & things that we heard people say.

This is mine. The title is from Knight's Tale, in case you wondered.

"To be, or not to be, that is the question
Bring it on Marissa!

You're in the wrong species, love.
Didn't you guys get my Populi announcement?

I'm going to tattoo the whole thing on my left calf.
I'm still waiting for the first Inuit nudist colony.

I feel my heart start beating to my favorite song.
My heart's a stereo.

Written in the stars, a million miles away:
Good morning baby.

Do not sh! me and spare him!
You are messing with the wrong man!

It's not that easy to cut off someone's head,
Parting is such sweet sorrow.

When I am dead my dearest
Sing on, as if in pain."

from Pasadena with love,

Chelsea.

  1. I didn't understand what you meant "found poem". Was this something you found, or put together from the variety of sources? Very interesting; I do like that you seemed to keep the rhythm throughout.
