Lifestyle Forecast: memorizing, drawing, & reading.

Monday, November 14:
"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places, even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. In love he predestined us for adoption as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will, to the praise of his glorious grace, with which he has blessed us in the Beloved. In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace, which he lavished upon us, in all wisdom and insight making known to us the mystery of his will, according to his purpose, which he set forth in Christ as a plan for the fullness of time, to unite all things in him, things in heaven and things on earth."
-Ephesians 1:3-10 ESV

Tuesday, November 15:
Memorize something. A poem, a song, a verse, a code, or your class schedule. It will keep your memory & brain sharp. Right now, we have to memorize a poem for my Creative Writing class. I'm working on "Her Triumph" by William Butler Yeats.

"I did the dragon's will until you came
Because I had fancied love a casual
Improvisation or a settled game
That followed if I let the kerchief fall:
Those deeds were best that gave the minute wings
And heavenly music if they gave it wit;
And then you stood among the dragon-rings.
I mocked, being crazy, but you mastered it
And broke the chain and set my ankles free,
Saint George or else a pagan Perseus;
And now we stare astonished at the sea,
And a miraculous strange bird shrieks at us."

Wednesday, November 16:
Draw. I don't care if you think you can't draw or you have absolutely no artistic talent. Doodle on your paper as you take notes in class, or in that really boring meeting. I've been obsessed with drawing dragons recently & I've been scribbling them in Brit's sketch pad & I have a feeling I'm going to be scratching them on my history notes tomorrow morning...

Thursday, November 17:
Start a new book series! Reading is a momentary escape from the world. You can never go wrong with a good book. Find your happy place.

Friday, November 18:
"Forgiveness is the key to action and freedom."
-Hannah Arendt

  1. I wish I had time to start a new book series; I barely have time to write!
