"Now the Lord is the Spirit and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom."
2 Corinthians 3:17
"For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another."
"Live as people who are free, not using your freedom as a cover-up for evil, but living as servants of God."
1 Peter 2:16
Try a new recipe. Even if you're not an expert baker or cook, experimenting is always fun. Last night, I tried to make fondant for the first time. I'm still not sure it's quite right, but it was a blast trying to figure it out (and get all the sticky stuff off.) If you'd like to try fondant, you can find the recipe RIGHT HERE.
mine is at this stage right now in the fridge.
after rolling it out (good luck)
you can make it look like this!
Scour Youtube to find a new musician or comedian that you like. Recently, I re-discovered the joys of Julian Smith. He makes really funny videos (my favorite is the 25 things I hate about Facebook). I'm saving you the trouble of scouring: his channel is right here. Also, just a few minutes ago, I was looking at Facebook while trying to think of something to write for this post and I found the page Orla Gartland. I got into her music a little while back; she's awesome. I did a post on her in April. (but, if you're lazy like me, you can click on this: <3 and it'll take you right to it.)
Read a blog. (Obviously if you're reading this, you're no stranger to blogs, unless it's your first time. In that case, you would be a stranger to blogs.) The point of this is, reading something you wouldn't normally read. Search through the list of blogs, find a friend's blog or website that you haven't read yet, follow it, and start reading. I've done this recently and it's a lot of fun. I'll share some of my favorites:
1. Confessions of a Pioneer Woman. This isn't one of my friends websites, but I like reading it every once in a while. I can't remember how I found her.
2. The Dressing Room Door. This blog is a collaboration between several young ladies. I took a few online classes with them, and caught one of their posts on Facebook.
3. Music with Mark. This is the blog of one of my friends from college. He has an amazing voice.
4. (life is too short not to) wear red shoes. I've also never met this girl, but she's friends with the same girls that write DRD. I love her take on fashion and life--it's a good read.
You can also check out the "my loves" section on the left for more of my favorites.
"You have to love a nation that celebrates it's Independence every July 4, not with a parade of guns, tanks, and soldiers who file by the White House in a show of strength of muscle, but with family picnics where kids throw Frisbees, the potato salad gets iffy, and the flies die from happiness. You may think you have overeaten, but it is patriotism."
