Yesterday was a crazy day. My first flight from Burbank to Las Vegas was only about half an hour long and the plane was only half full. I had a whole row of seats to myself. I had 2 hours in Vegas and then my flight from Vegas to Buffalo. This flight was full and I sat next to a young guy who was going home after a snowboarding trip with some of his buddies.
When I arrived in Buffalo, NY last night around 11:30 pm EST, I called Julie (my ride) and told her I was about half an hour early. When I hung up the phone, the guy sitting next to me leaned over and said, "I sense a little excitement in your voice." I couldn't help it. For the first time in 6 months I was going to see my friends.
I finally got off the plane and walked to the baggage area. My suitcase was the second one off the plane. I was quite thrilled. I put on Brittany's letterman jacket (she let me borrow it because I left all my winter stuff in Idaho like a genius) and walked outside to wait for Julie.
I could feel all nine degrees in the Buffalo air. I was too excited to be freezing but I began to feel it as I watched Julie drive past me. She came back around and jumped out of the car. We ran at each other and it was a happy reunion. It feels a little like we picked up where we left off 6 months ago, except we're both missing a lot of information. It'll be good to catch up.
I don't really know what I'm doing today yet, I'm waiting for a reply from one of my friends. These two weeks that I'm here are going to be a lot of house hopping I'm thinking. It'll be a great time to see all my friends again!
